Sir John Malcolm's 1825 work Was one of the earliest sociological treatments of Sufism .Malcolm's treatment, though interesting, is not well informed, The History of Persia, From the Early Period to the Present Time which Contains an Account of Government, Relegion, Usages and Character of the Inhabitants of that Kingdom.
